The Covid vaccines saved 20m lives. That's the Lancet figure that gets quoted uncritically by media and politicians. But it's easy to show it's junk, says Nick Rendell. The projections of Covid deaths are off the scale!

Stand Up for Your Rights

category dublin | worker & community struggles and protests | event notice author Tuesday March 29, 2005 21:41author by Gregor Kerr - WSM - 1st May branchauthor email kerrgregor at yahoo dot co dot ukauthor phone 086-1501151 Report this post to the editors

Organising meeting for Mayday 2005 - Wed. 6th April

Wed. 6th April 2005 - 8pm - WSM office. Organising meeting to discuss possibility of 'Stand Up For Your Rights' Campaign around Mayday 2005

Following discussions with a number of groups and individuals, the WSM are interested in helping to put together a ‘Stand Up for Your Rights’ campaign around this year’s Mayday. This would involve production of leaflets outlining briefly workers’ rights in a number of key areas – minimum wage, holiday entitlement, sick pay etc. We would aim to get these leaflets into the hands of as many unorganised workers as possible, organising at least one high profile leaflet distribution whereby we would get as many people as possible to participate in a leafleting session on Henry St. or some other city centre location – dishing out leaflets both on street and to workers in shops. This Mayday event could be the beginning of a longer-term campaign aimed at encouraging the organisation of unorganised groups of workers.
It is also suggested that we investigate the possibility of producing similar leaflets in languages other than English, aimed at non-unionised immigrant workers.
An open organising meeting to talk about the possibility of getting something like this off the ground will be held on Wednesday 6th April at 8pm in the WSM office, 5 Merrion Row (beside Centra, across the road from O'Donoghues pub).
All welcome - at the moment this is just the seeds of an idea, nothing has been agreed. So please come along with ideas and we'll see if it's possible to get something organised. For more info., contact Gregor Kerr at the phone number or Email address above.
