Jump To Comment: 2 1If you're in Ireland you may have heard the about a week or so ago that the Ireland was brought before the European Court of Justice for waste legislation violations such as those at Tramore by the Commission. The Commission included the photos linked-to above in their case against the Irish state. Ireland will be fined, but the local crooks -- like the petrol station owner who destroyed part of the SAC at Tramore illegally but is allowed get away with it because of his political connections -- will sleep easy.
The DCU Green Society's first trip away from Dublin in was down to Tramore, Co. Waterford in 2000. At the link below you can see some photos we took of the beach, the "protected" area behind, and the magical, moving dump. Coastwatch Ireland (coastwatch - at - eircom - dot - net) has been campaigning with others for local democracy, accountability and environmental protection in Tramore. Worthwhile to get in touch with them and the local anglers association.
