Interview with Paula Geraghty:
This photographic exhibition is an accumulation of five years work from four different photographers - Paul Mattsson, who is from absolutely everywhere, Guy Smallman, from the UK, Michael Gallagher and myself, from here in Dublin.
This collection of photographs covers a wide variety of anti-war events and anti-fascist events, from New York to London to Genoa to Prague and also here in Ireland - starting with the day the Irish Stock Exchange was shut down.
The Exhibition is on from the 16th to the 28th of February, here at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Sean Mac Dermmot Street. It is a fantastic space and a bit ironic that the only space we could get to host such an exhibition covering such topics is a Roman Catholic Church. But it is in the heart of the Dublin city centre - when were talking about working class politics, anti-war, anti-imperialism, and fighting the system I think this is a really good spot to have it. Our hope is that local people will attend, as well.
The aim of this exhibition and the photographers is to record what ordinary people do to try to fight back against the might and the power of 'the powers that be.' All of the four activist photographers are passionate that photography is one way of recording the way people fight back.
As activist photographers we are trying to record our side of the story - these kinds of photos are not going to be shown on SkyNews, in the Irish Independent, probably not in the Irish Times either.

And if you read this site much you will have seen photos by Paula Geraghty and Michael Gallagher from time to time.
You can get a quality copy of this image for 10euros when you go to the exhibit.
Worth it, since it helps pay for the exhibit to travel around the island...
