i advised you not to read this :)

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern tonight conveyed his “warmest congratulations” to US President George Bush on securing a second term in office. He said the strong tradition of friendship and goodwill between Ireland and the United States, and the contribution which people of Irish heritage have made to America was a source of enormous pride. ....

Hi, I'm Stacy, how can help you today?

"hello there, this is Bertie Ahern of Ireland, little place you spent a few days here earlier in the year, while doing Europe, you remember I was the president, (only of Europe sure), anyway, I'd like to congratulate you, and as you know we're all very happy in Ireland that we're not going to be losing money like we would with that fecker Kerry. And we've done our very best to supress those photos of you in your lingerie at the pisspot".

Thank you Bart, the President is very busy at the moment, but I'll convey your message, thank you for using the White House customer service line.
HAVE A NICE DAY
SLEEP WELL
:-)

does anyone know if Bertie actually got to speak to President Bush or just "conveyed" his message sort of like this-

"hello, this is the white house, sorry but no-one is available to take your call at the moment, you could try the ranch, or leave a message after the tone".

I'm only asking, coz over here in BCN we're all getting quite interested in the fact that Bush still hasn't returned Zapatero's phone call. We haven't quite gone front page with it, but like when Bush can find 40 minutes to hold a private chat with Aznar, it seems only right and proper and normal to return Zapatero's phone call and demonstrate that the relationship is frozen, and at least reassure people that Zapatero won't be having sleeping problems or losing sleep (which ever is appropriate in modern democratic civil politics) [ =I dunno u tell me].

It turns out that President Bush still talks to Chirac, but through an interpreter and as little as he can.
We presume Chirac talks back at him.

And as if to suggest that he didnt necessarily support Bush as a person, Bertie was keen to add that a Kerry victory could have damaged the Irish ecenomy!

is in a level 4 coma in France's military hospital in the outskirts of Paris.

Suha Arafat, Yasser's wife will have the final say on switching off his life support machine which may keep him alive indefinitely and proves a sticky point for Islamic medical ethics. If allowed to die naturally or if he dies through the withdrawl of treatment he will be buried according to muslim tradition within a day. It is expected his grave will be located in either Ramalah or Gaza.
