Another People's Picnic to Free the Old Head of Kinsale
Defend your Right to Roam
The Free the Old Head of Kinsale Campaign will hold another' People's Picnic at the scenic Co.Cork headland on August 22nd.

What you're not allowed see unless you're rich!
Another People’s Picnic will be held at the Old Head of Kinsale on Sunday, 22nd August to highlight the campaign to restore public access to the historic headland.
This weekend’s event will renew the ongoing campaign demanding the restoration of public access to the Old Head of Kinsale which has been denied for the last few years since the construction of an exclusive and elitist golf club on the site.
Generations of local people and visitors from all around the world have enjoyed the breath-taking scenery at the Old Head of Kinsale which was a very popular destination for hill-walkers, nature lovers, rock climbers and whale & dolphin watchers.
The Free the Old Head of Kinsale campaign believes the closure of public access from the Old Head, complete with barbed-wire, CCTV cameras and security personnel is the denial of a basic right enjoyed by people for centuries. The campaign is determined to keep this issue alive.
On August 22nd another People’s Picnic will be held at the Old Head of Kinsale with a barbeque, music and many colourful flags and banners. People are invited to bring along their own picnics as well as musical instruments, etc. to add to the colourful and fun nature of the event.
As usual a special Free the Old Head bus will run from Cork City centre, leaving from outside Cork Opera House at 1:00pm. The event will kick off at the Old Head from 2pm onwards.
