Deported from Ireland for falling out of love

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Sunday July 18, 2004 17:56author by Anon Report this post to the editors

The Irish government is now threatening to deport immigrants on the grounds that their marriages to Irish citizens have broken down.
Women who have worked legally in the republic for several years face being kicked out of the country because their partners have left them and their children.

Notices of deportation were served within days of the Citizenship Referendum restricting access to Irish passports for the children of immigrants born on the island after 1998.

In fact, Ireland has been a Nation of Emigrants to the USA, Australia and New Zealand. I remember the time when in the morning at about 5am Irish citizens stand outside the US Embassy waiting to enter and apply for US Visa.
This has been some years before Ireland entered the EU.....
Since then with the aid and subvention Ireland has build his street, highways up to NI, Donegal and what has been before a nice little Irish Home is today a 'Windsor Castle'. (I have seen it in Donegal by presenting pictures from 1980 - and now 2000)
Ireland and must of the Irish today copy the British, plays the same games and in fact, as not Irish citizen I can no longer see any difference between Wales and many place in Ireland.
Ireland has become so expensive, that even other EU Citizens avoid Ireland as Tourists.
The Irish Government - very special - hides behind walls , more large then this one I can see here of Corea and getting in contact with some one in charge of the Irish Government you need either know someone - or all is hopeless.

Ireland has changed. Ireland is now a rich nation since it did enter the EU, but on the other side refuse all EU facilities like the Schengenagreement etc.

Sicne 1968 I travelled to Ireland and even made my first DL in Dublin, but today - thank you.
It looks for me like a Nation, let's say Monaco, all talk about money - the young generation must fight in the street against teh Guarda to get heard and rights and all politic is made behind the wall - hidden and fare away from the citizens.
This Ireland today has Government which looks like the Windsor Castle and act like a Mafia far behind in South Sicilia....

Good by lovely Ireland - we will remember you as Ireland.... what you have been!

Heinz you said 'Ireland is now a rich nation since it did enter the EU, but on the other side refuse all EU facilities like the Schengenagreement'

Ireland would like to become part of the Schengen accords however our large neighbour likes to remain outside of any agreement that could effect it's so called 'red line' on immigration. If Ireland entered Schengen without the Brits we would have to give up on our free travel zone and would therefore heap inconvenience upon ourselves when we wanted to visit all those poor wild geese that left when the going was bad and missed the gravy train. And furthermore all this talk of Donegal and the bleeding west is old hat let them emigrate we'll keep the lolly they waste buying old tins, one off housing, and range rovers.

Anyway we pay (net contributors) for you Euro bastards to live a life of luxury in the sunshine eating black forest gateau and drinking cold blood. After all those years of humility we can now lord it up a bit.
