A US mercenary has been shot dead in the Saudi capital Riyadh. He was working for the US defence contractor Vinnell, a unit of Northrop Grumman Corp. Seven Vinnell employees were among the 35 people killed last year in the bombing of a Riyadh compound housing foreigners.

Saudi Arabia is the world's largest oil exporter and instability in the kingdom will wreak havoc with energy supplies and the economy around the globe.

It's more like the US/Authorities control al-qaeda in newspapers, TV etc
by leaking 'news' at opportune moments.

this 'news' also helps the process of brainwashed gardai, losing the run of themselves and lashing out when they're given the order.

A tactic of the US ,used in an attempt to discredit al Qaeda , is to link al Qaeda with the CIA and indeed to hint as the above contributor did that al Qaeda are indeed under the control of the CIA. This is rediculous US propaganda.

During the Russian invasion of Afghanistan when muslims from across the globe went to fight the Russians in defence of Islam there was a certain amount of equipment and basic tactics training provided by the US to the Mujahideen. They gave them small arms , rockets and a small amount of C4 along with about a dozen "military advisors" (CIA) to give instruction.

The Islamists of the Mujahideen were held in contempt by the US advisors who saw them as a very bad force who simply wasted most of the equipment given to them on crazy pot-shots. The Mujahideen , for their part , help the "smelly footed fat-bellied infidels" of the CIA as disgusting amimals. Contact between the two groups was minimal and strained with no relationship ever developing.

You might want to contrast this lack of relationship between Mujahideen and CIA with the sort developed between US agencies and Irish Garda and Defence Forces. When our boys are sent for training in the US they are fully brainwashed by being inducted and sensitised to the lifestyle, sentiments, politics and morals of their "trainers".

They go to the same lap-dancing bars, drink the same beer, eat the same pork , wear the same US style clothing and baseball hats, listen to the same music etc etc. This is all part of being sure they are "our guys" when they return to Ireland. This is how the US imperialist machine finds it possible to operate in an area near you.

For instance, the failed police commissioner and Weat Cork thicko Pat Byrne was brought to the US for "training" with the FBI at Quantaco just before his rise to power. Then when in power he went on to implement the worst forms of paranoid US righ-wing policies. Such gems as "Zero Tolerance", "The War on Drugs" and " The War Against Terrorism" came straight from the US to a cop station near you thanks to Pat . What a waste of money and time and a crime against Irish people who fell foul of such fascist ideology. But then chaps like Pat are picked because fascist ideology grew not far from their crib and they are "the right stuff"..........to make stormtroopers.

Same goes for our Army , Navy and Air Force who are also sensitised and inducted into a right-wing US view of the world. If you train a Rothweiller (Not Rockweiller Pat) to see the world in terms of "us and them" they will always bite "them".

So if you still think al Qaeda is under US control and Ireland is protected and policed by a free and fair group you need to pinch yourself and wake up. It's Wahington that is only a phone call away from Garda HQ, Dept of Justice or top brass in the Defence forces. And that building on the south side of the Thames at Vauxhall bridge doesn't even have to make a phone call to have their orders delivered.

The CIA are useing their footsoldiers, Al Qaeda to create a climate of fear so Bush can romp home in the elections and then America can tighten its grip on the oil nations.

They're flying in arms and weapons covertly to Afghanistan to launch attacks on the House of Saud.

They also had Reagan killed so that the 80's good-times vibe will be remembered in time for the elections. Reagan could have lived on indefineitely.

the delight of slow and gentle and ecologically sound flight.
Isn't it odd how Al Qaeda are in a weird sort of way playing an ecological agenda?
I sort of suspect they're the military wing of the Greenies.
