Last Nights spotlight programme on BBC highlighted the extent to which the British Crown Forces were involved in the murder of innocent Catholics.
The programme gave very solid and compelling evidence that the murder of Catholics was approved of and indeed sanctioned by the Crown Forces. It also highlighted the inadequacies in the judicial system in The North. The comment by Lord Chief Justice Lowry that the actions of these men were acceptable because of “their frustration” is nothing short of disgusting.
It is now high time that an open an independent public enquiry take place into the state sponsored murder that took the life of so many innocents over the course of the troubles. Those in RUC special branch who ran these gangs must be relieved of their duty and the Special Branch must be DISBANDED.
