Grassroots Gathering 7 Cork with Revised Programme & Map

The next grassroots gathering is taking place in Cork on the weekend of the 5, 6 & 7 March. This is an open invitation to participate to all who agree with the aims of the network (see below). The venue for the gathering is Ennismore House, Middle Glanmire Road in Mayfield on Saturday and Sunday. To get to the venue, get the No. 8 bus from Easons on Patrick Street (should have Mayfield or Lotabeg on the front). Use the map attached to find the bus stop or ask your friendly bus driver. If in doubt, contact one of the people on the numbers listed below.

There will be a certain amount of accommodation provided on site at Ennismore House and more will be provided by your local gatherers. If you need accommodation, please send an e-mail to [email protected]. Accomodation will be allocated on Friday evening (at the LV bar, MacCurtain St., City Centre) and all day Saturday (at Ennismore House) as required.

If people wish to bring children and have them looked after on Saturday/Sunday morning, please contact the e-mail address ([email protected]) immediately stating the number of children, their ages and at what times care will be requested.

An outline programme of events is shown below. The full programme will be confirmed this week.

Friday: 8pm on Social at the LV public house, MacCurtain St, City

All events on Saturday and Sunday will take place in Ennismore House in Mayfield unless otherwise stated.

Future of the anti-war movement
DISSENT (Organising for G8, London 2005)
Circus skills

1-2pm Lunch

2-6pm Plenary and workshops relating to EU presidency/May Day. Format to be open space. Introduction by Dublin activists followed by a series of workshops to be decided by participants. Tea and coffee available all afternoon.

6pm Regroup and explain plans for the evening

6.15-7pm Dinner

7-8pm Workshop space available for other workshops

Evening Social at Ennismore house, all welcome to bring instruments, etc.

Entertainment (Los Langeros and DJ’s) at LV bar, MacCurtain St.

Sunday: 10-11am Breakfast

11-11.30am General group, introducing plans for the day
