The end of accountable elections in Ireland

category national | politics / elections | news report author Tuesday February 03, 2004 19:11author by fuinseog Report this post to the editors

At 11.00 on 4th February, Martin Cullen will launch electronic voting and counting in Ireland. Cullen who is both Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and Fianna Fáil Director of Elections for the Local Elections, will perform some sort of ritual media ceremony in the Mansion House.

The system being introduced is open to fraud because of the lack of any paper vote trail and the use of non-open source software.
