Saturday 6th December, Central Hotel, Exchequer Street, 12pm-4pm

Dear Activists

A special all Dublin activist meeting is taking place on Saturday 6th December in the Central Hotel. Activists from the four local authority areas will be attending - Fingal, South County Dublin, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown and Dublin City.

The four local authorities have reacted differently to the new power to implement non collection, and the campaigns have responded accordingly. Reports will be given from each campaign area. A general discussion on tactics and the way to progress the campaigns will then take place.

A good turn out is hoped for. Hopefully you can attend and bring other activists along.

If I can I'd like to mention two other important dates, for demonstrations:

Friday December 12th High Court, Four Courts @ 10am hearing of test case on non payment

Monday December 15th City Hall @ 6.00pm City Council meeting to vote on estimates. These are expected to include increases in Bin Charges, so this is an important demo.

After Saturday's meeting I aim to put these 2 events up seperately as 2 seperate events in the Events section, if that's ok Indymedia? I know that strictly speaking they'll be getting repeated twice, but many people who might not read this article because they're going down to the blockade of Shannon warport on Saturday would participate in these demonstrations.

my best wishes to the magnificent ,if small ,group of activists who keep alive the "garbage tax" campaign. There are sheep and wolves..in every society. The (fianna fail)predators are in the ascendency at present, but while ten or twenty ..or more..good men..are prepared to suffer,..for the leaderless (and thankless)sheep in our society...there is hope. You are the salt of the earth.Your cause is just. Persevere.,...the Ahernes.the Haugheys, the Burkes ...the lawlors and all their kith and kin in Fianna Fail seem great.. because we are on our knees! They have the resources ,the money the power ,to bribe the populace into an unholy alliance against the weaker ,the forgotten ,the voiceless in our community. We must unite all the people we can against this rotten apple of a government .We must never let it be forgotten that for decades, they have lined their own pockets , and those of the rich and powerful ,at the expense of working class people.Never ,never must it be forgotten ..until the very name "Fianna Fail" ,and all they stand for is an unwholesome word ..to be spat out..like the spittle of a sour apple ..from the mouth...whatever administration replaces them..it can hardly be more corrupt ,more uncaring, more ruthless..than this Mafiosi which rules our destiny now.

The Bin Taxes are in for a spectacular leap in coming years,if Fianna Fail are implementing a wonderful "Relocation on vacation!,"plan for their Mandarin minions in government employ.Hopefully,-Its a gimmick for sure.! Pray tell us,Bertie,(and your consort,Mary) the cost in "dislocation" compensation for 10,000 civil servants, plus the usual "relocation"reimbursements etc,etc that the powerful public service unions would require of "Joe Taxpayer" for such a wonderful treat for every civil servant who has had to visit the Capital City in search of gainful employment,-as sending him back to the bog ,a seriously wealthier man?. It is a wonderful scenario...1. Sell your scandalously priced house in Dublin(thanks,Fianna Fail, for that!) 2 Buy a rural retreat for half the price,3.No more nightmare traffic;useless infrastructure;parking problems.etc etc.4 Get another 200,000 Euros (in "disturbance compensation" ). 5 Take early retirement.6 Buy a nice apartment on the Costa del Sol,..next door ,to a good golf course ,and rub shoulders with the Builders/speculators/Publicans/assorted Fianna Fail stalwarts who have already bought the best sites there....and 7.. live happily ever after,!( while,Bertie figures out how to make the not so secure" left-behinds " pay for it all ..-probably for the rest of their young lives!).That is, after he has found 400 million for the sexually abused,..400 million for the medically(negligentconsultants/tainted blood etc)abused, and another few billion for the Legal Profession abused .(almost evey business and individual in the country!).and so on.. !Bertie may just be teasing you civil service Mandarins however..otherwise his frugal pal McCreevy will have to do another" Charlie Haughy" with the National Debt...borrow and be damned! .Maybe it"s time to tap it again... Fianna Fail would certainly like to strike camp,.. and bring all their gang ,servants included,.back to the sleepy pastures of rural Ireland, from where they could together rule the roost like Cockerels for evermore,. forgetting about the troublesome folk in the big cities, except when they need extra funds to maintain the "Squire Haughey "lifestyle,.and if the Dubliners,or the Corkonians, prove a bit of a thorn in Berties backside..paying for all this garbage..(taxes)..well.... Hopefully the thorns will grow bigger in time..God willing. Meanwhile Bertie and Mary, happy hunting on your financing expeditions for these wonderful retirement plans for the not- so -civil service....on the Costa del Golf.!..Playa.Del Connemara,!or Puerto Rico del Mayo! or in whatever happy haven they may eventually repose...Another 25cents on a litre of petrol?..500euros a year for the bins? Can we meter the water supply? the well is not empty yet.Back to the drawing board boys.Get those Mandarins thinking! The person you enrich may be..yes..YOU!!
