The BNP is a fascist party whose ideology is based on white supremacism and anti-Semitism. It also has links with fascist paramilitaries including members of the loyalist organisations in the Six Counties. The BNP, through its links with the UDA in particular, has been successful to some degree in organising in the Six Counties and this has resulted in an increased level of racist attacks. There is no organised fascist element in Dublin so anything that might assist in bringing that about has to be resisted.

Did a survey recently not show that sinn fein voters are the most likely to be racist in Ireland . why alienate your core constituancy.
Also saying that the Loyalists are anti - semetic (innacurate term I know), was it not the IRA who recently put up PLO flags. The PLO throw its linked group the alasque martyers brigade has indulge shall we say in the killing of Jews, just a bit.

What survey? 'omega supreme'(!), The shinners have been strong opponents of racism in Ireland, possibly due to the fact that they have emerged from a situation of having been subjected to a combination of racism and religious sectarianism.

author by omega supremepublication date Sun Nov 16, 2003 19:57author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Can't remember where I saw the survey probably the Irish times seeing as thats the rag I usually read, but I did see it.
As for the shinners being opposed to secterianism the provosional I.R.A and hence modern sinn fein were only formed because the offical I.R.A refused to kill what they viewed as their fellow Irish men not caring about religion or political persuation. The provos on the other hand had no such quams with killing people because they were protestant or unionist as they proved tragically again and again.
I know that sinn fein is a leftist party and is against rascism but you can't deny that their average supporter differs substansaly on the race issue if you've ever spoken to one.
