Great work Indymedia in general - but dissapointing to see no front page feature go up on the anti-war demo - which has been globally planned for, for several months in advance.

Has Indymedia confined the Iraqi situation to the dustbin of history as well like the frivolous public?

But appreciate that the bin-tax situation this week was a big issue. I thought a feature taking up just a small bit of room would have been nice though.

Generally features are put together from articles sent to the newswire and there have been no suitable candidates or anything close. Personally I think that this is because the march is not really that interesting. If 100,000 plus had no effect before the war began when we could have actualy done something, then a few hundreds or thousands is not really going to have much effect on anything now. Beyond of course reminding us that RBB is still our leader.

Anonymous you're a terrible man for telling people what should be done, and praising people, but actually doing anything concrete and you vanish.

You want a front page feature, shut up and write it.

jesus.....

No. 6,

Chill out man, its Friday & its sunny!

Besides the articles written on Sept 27th over the last few days there have been 11 articles on Indymedia on or related to Sept 27th over the last month. There was probably more before these.
Please find below a list of these articles should people wish to have a browse for info. purposes.

But I admit that none of these are really suitable for an article, though it could have been done from these if Indymedia had wished.

I actually thought something better had been written over the last month - I must have been mixing it up with the Belfast protest.

But, alas, you've got me on this one - I have been meaning to do a proper article on it for weeks - I just assumed the Irish Anti-War movement would (should never fucking assume!).

There is plenty on the anti-war site for this - I was also afraid if I just copied & pasted to create an article I would be castigated for it! But I think I might be have been over emphaiszing the Indymedia censorship wrath there!

So hands up No. 6, you got me on this one - mea culpa! I should have put an aricle togther as you say. But I also feel that the Indymedia editors should have made an effort to get something together - even sent out an appeal for someone to put an article together.

The Irish Anti-War movemnet have also been very dissapointing in not putting something together - and I will certainly be contacting them over this.

Can't believe Cork can't even put a bus together for it, and they are quite active down there as far as I know.

Looks like the day may be a dissapointment - which is a great pity following the incredible & unprecented success of the last one.

Still we live in hope - I urge everyone, who can, to turn out - AND LET US NOR THE WORLD EVER FORGET THE PEOPLE OF IRAQ, PALESTINE OR AFGANISTAN.

Okay back to feckin work,

Regards.

The saturday protest is being announced/covered widely in the media. In the IT today for instance and have heard stuff on radio and seen it in several other newspapers. I have not seen comprehensive reports on the Bin Charges campaign (especially coverage reflecting diverse views of campaign activists and the supporters of the campaign)in the same outlets.

I am involved regularly in getting stuff together for the front page and this is how I would justify (to myself and others) the fact that the IAWM event is not a feature at present.

Those who want to have an influence on the content of the front page can and should publish what they think is important on the wire and join the editorial list and propose their article as a feature - people who contribute on the list for a while and get to know how things work can and do then ask for and get editorial priviliges and move on to maintaining the site and designing features and putting them forward for approval.

Don't criticise the (entirely volunteer driven) alternative media, become the . . . . etc.

Just constructive criticism ec, which I think ye should welcome & encourage.

Indymedia has all my best interests and I obviously applaud all the, totally volunteer, work that has been done to date.

But I take your point about becoming more involved in the editorial committee.

Best regards and here's hoping that the mainstream media & Indymedia will have helped make the day a success.
