Case of the kettle calling the pot black

category national | politics / elections | news report author Thursday July 31, 2003 22:13author by Billy Report this post to the editors

THE gall of Sinn Fein knows no bounds. A member of that party was to meet the police in Banbridge in relation to the flying of loyalist paramilitary flags.

I am opposed to paramilitary organisations of every hue but for an organisation such as Sinn Fein, which is the political wing of the Provisonal IRA, to complain about another camp's flags is farcical.

When one thinks of the atrocities carried out across the province - and not least in the town of Banbridge - by Sinn Fein's private army (which stands at the ready to do it all again), one can only feel contempt for their hypocrisy.

It is an extreme case of the kettle calling the pot black. Sinn Fein and their terrorist cohorts should crawl back into their well-stocked bunkers.

I'll stop waving my flag if he stops waving his flag. But he's got to jump first.

In Belfast, most of the flags flown are loyalist paramilitary (UDA, UVF mostly) flags, although the number of flags put up this year is well down on previous years. The nationalist areas have a few tricolours but not much more.
In terms of murals, most of those I saw in nationalist areas were based on human rights cases and international solidarity whilst those in loyalist areas were predominantly paramilitary focussed although apparently they have been painting over a number of these recently.

Making a flag is very easy.
Ask your mammy for some old fabric she doesn't need anymore, be optimistic think about the future of humanity and a happy world, thus you may choose "cheerful uplifting colours". Now you ought to sew these "rags" as they are significantly termed together. You may hurt yourself at this stage, so if you're not up to using sharp instruments ask the Mammy to help you.
When you have finished making your flag, you will be able to hoist your own petard.
This is lots of fun. Be careful when choosing a "mast" that it has no nails sticking out the end, as then the local Lad or Mná lad (Garda/PSNI) will be tempted to think your flag is really a cunning ruse to hide your "bludgeon/cudgel". Now of course your mammy won't have given you all that time and assistance to see you taking strips out of someone in a fit of aggression, or in the local copshop giving a statement, but this how the "Lad/mnáLad" often think. (That is indeed why I thoughtfully recommend "cheerful" colours).

The gall of you billy to be wasting our time with your pathetic whinge about "Sinn Fein and their terrorist cohorts". The Sinners have DEMOCRATICALLY elected representatives and are entitled to put forward whatever motions they can (within the artificial six county statelets own rules don't forget) so tough shit if the croppies are pissing you off.

I for one cannot fathom how or why you love that old Windsor hag so much. The contortions you sad unionist victims have to make to justify whatever reactionary position you are defending is just not worth it. When you're ready, cead mile failte, you are living on the island of IRELAND you thick, Donegal is more northern than the name of your wannabe chosen people state.

I agree that Sinn Fein/IRA have committed appalling atrocities and this is a matter of great shame. So too have loyalist terror gangs. This also is a matter of great shame.

No united or divided Ireland was worth the misery that these atrocities brought to innocent people.

No he wasn't in the majority.

As far as I know (and I don't know much so correct me if I'm wrong) the Nazi party only had 10% of the seats in the reichstag. But managed for a number of reasons to become the governing party.

That said, your correct, reprentative democracy is toss and shinners are nationalists (enough said).
