Journos and cameras will ensure more socially acceptable forms of behavior from persecutors

Seriously, its a civil matter. The owner has to seek an eviction order. The gardai are duty bound to prevent illegal evictions. Especially if cameras are there.

One of the residents has being attacked by the would by eviction sheriffs, who hit him on the head with a crowbar.

There are gardai entering the building as I type.

Can the media representatives reading this go down and report on this illegal use of force?

no person without court order may evict the Autonomous Centre.
Anyone attempting to do so is guilty of a criminal offence.

I've just being talking to people on the phone. As I understand it the squat has been evicted and probably illegally. One person was taken to hospital injured by a crow bar. A person by the name of John Birmingham and two heavies attempted to get in. It appears that people called the cops fearing for their own safety. I've also heard that two people were arrested outside for obstructing the guards

Let all of us invovled in these contemporary issues of our society write / publish something.

30% of Dublin's babies come from Parnell Sq.
80% of squats get evicted.
40% of those illegally.
99% of those that get re-opened go
happy happy.

Just skipped out of work to try and get down in time. I arrived ar mo rothar to find the sorry scene that just now has reminded me of those images of famine Ireland evictions (history all over again?). The ten or so new owners of the building had being ILLEGALLY evicted by the defenders of the capitalist status quo and were standing, rather disappointed and a little shaken after the threatening and heavy handed manner in which this crime was was carried out.

One IMC journalist questioned an architect who arrived a few minutes later. Gardai tried to avoid the gaze of his digital camera.

At a regrouping it was decided (15 minutes ago) that a small delagation of 4/5 would go to Store st. station to make complaints against the gardai's behaviour and the act of eviction itself, where there were no grounds (when asked many times, gardai said they would not give out the act under which they were evicting) and to press criminal charges of assault and battery against John Birmingham and his hired thug(s).

The activists from Autonomous Community Space are in good spirits at this point and know that this is only the beginning of creating a Dublin Autonomous zone and community centre.
