A promise to prioritize I spoke to Martina last thurs, basically she said that they have been prioritized by the council to do something about the speeding traffic on their road because the gardai aren't happy with the situation either. Re-shaping the road may take up to a year so Im not sure how successful the protest was, as far as I know they have stopped doing the slow-walk protests but they were appreciative of our help and the critical mass guys who turned up on friday to suport them, maybe this will be further example of rts and residents understanding each other. I offered rts future support but i don;t think there was anything more rts could do. Atleast one guard on a motorbike will supervise traffic and rush hour and I heard mentioned of a zebra crossing for the street. Progress was made. In my personal opinion the non-resident paid parking could be removed from the street as a sign of good faith as to what is to come,I suggested this to Martina and she just said that'd be too much money lost for the council. |
