Everyone is also welcome to come along to the SPI Bar tomorrow night. The bar manager says no politics in the bar so it'll be a chance to relax without leaflets being thrust at you, from either bus!

The lineup times will be posted soon.

Also the Good Bus has had emails from individuals who are travelling on their own, via plane, train, etc. Hope you can all come along this evening as well, we'll be discussing how to link with us, what campsite we'll be on, etc.

And on the good bus?

From talking to an SWPer it sounds like the GR longer bus has been cancelled. But I dont know anything more about the details, nothing about it on their site.

Also according to their site GR are staying in a place called Camp Connolly but I havent seen or heard that camp name anywhere on the web on sites for Evian.

author by GR bargainspublication date Wed May 21, 2003 16:35author address author phone Report this post to the editors

GR bus that is leaving on Friday and coming back on the Tuesday will cost ?165. This is a massive 20% discount over that offered by our nearest rivals.

GR bus: Open to people of all political viewpoints who want to spend a few days being asked if they want to join the party.

Do you want to join the party.

You must want to join the party now.

No really, please join the party.

At least buy a paper.

Now that you've bought a paper you must want to join the party.

Look we are the real anti-capitalists so join the party.

It's not fair, we organised this bus for you so you have to join the party.

Well how about at least joining GR. You must feel part of GR now that you have been trapped with us all week?

Now that you've joined GR you should really join the party.

[And the SWP wonder why people don't want to travel with them!]

author by Joepublication date Wed May 21, 2003 16:59author address author phone Report this post to the editors

The problem the SWP has with the 'good bus' is that GR was created (from above by the party leadership on instruction from London) in order to 'be' the anti-capitalist movement. So for the SWP it is a disaster that an actual anti-capitalist movement is emerging from below in the form of the good bus and other initatives.

What is more because of the SWP manipulation of GR and the fact that most of the Good Bus crowd have been through GR and have sworn 'never again' they are hostile to the SWP project. So when as above the SWP advertise the GR bus as cheaper then the good bus they are telling us a lot more then it seems at first.

SWP members need to give it some thought. YOUR ACTIONS have created an anti-capitalist movement hostile to your politics. Blame who you like for this but nearly all this crowd have been part of GR, have travelled with GR and have come to their own decisions on that basis. It didn't have to be that way.

"GR bus €165
by GR bus Wed, May 21 2003, 1:41pm

GR bus that is leaving on Friday and coming back on the Tuesday will cost €165."

What has this followup to do with the original article, apart from promoting rivalry? Can't the GR just organise their bus and leave others to do what they want? Or must the GR/SWP have a one party state...sorry I mean a monopoly of protest buses.

It seems strange to accuse anyone who doesn't do what you are doing of sectarianism!

"GR bus: Open to people of all political viewpoints!""

So is the good bus. It's a good bus, cos it's against the G8? Ok, get over it.

It's pretty sad and pathetic that GR people are getting so wound up and upset that someone else is deciding to run another non party organised bus to Evian. Also is there any point in denying any GR event is organised by the SWP? Are the SWP ashamed of their SWP status? Seems odd...

Anyway come to the meeting tonight if you are coming to Evian for the week and want advise, no matter how you are going.
