(Dublin) Protest against Yamanouchi: Customer of Vivisection

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday May 19, 2003 11:40author by SHAC - Stop Huntingdon Animal Crueltyauthor email brian_cass_dropdead at hotmail dot comauthor address PO Box 4734, D.1author phone 085-7371810 Report this post to the editors

Demo at Yamanouchi Ireland on the 21st of May (this Wednesday), between 12:30 and 2:00. As part of the international campaign against Cambridgeshire vivisection lab, Huntingdon Life Sciences, SHAC-Ireland will hold a noisy demo against HLS customer Yamanouchi.

When Michele Rokke worked undercover at HLS in 1997 she reported that Yamanouchi were a customer. They were due to carry out a leg-breaking experiment on 37 beagles where their legs were due to be snapped with steel wire and with no use of anesthetic. Michele described these dogs as ill and extremely nervous and fearful.
An HLS worker joked about the dogs, saying “they should just break all their legs so they’ll be easier to work with.” He joked about how great it would be to move them from cage to cage if all their legs were broken. Despite this exposed cruelty, Yamanouchi is still a customer.

We need as many people as possible to show Yamanouchi how important it is for them to drop their dealings with HLS. Bring drums, airhorns, whistles and anything that makes a lot of noise.

Their address is:
Damastown,
Mulhuddart,
Dublin 15.

The no: 38 bus, which leaves from outside the Royal Dublin Hotel on O'Connell St., stops nearly outside the Yamanouchi premises. Walk along by the business park and look for the logo...
