too tired to write a report, but it was excellent - good speakers and discussion and discussions at the pub afterwords.

resistance is fertile again, me thinks :-)

wat if the rest of them (sf/sp/wsm/etc) started putting up pics from their public meetings?

The meeting was dispiriting. It focused on nonsense like the nuremberg principles rather than how we can work to create pressure to mitigate the sentences that will be inflicted on the CW/Mary Kelly without them having to give uo their principles (by saying sorry your honour and an be tugging the forelock). Surely pressure can be created using the foreign/ domestic press.

Write to the correspondents for French/ German/ Russian Newspapers.

Copy Department Foreign Affairs and relevant embassies.

British/ Northern Ireland Amnesty International.

Also the core argument of the pro war people in Ireland (regime change) no longer holds. So what does this imply so far as future anti-occupation protests are concerned.

The meeting wasn't great:
Ed Horgan who may be looking at ruin and the plane wreckers are brave people; but absolutely nothing was done to help them at the meeting. Perhaps all the real work took place in the pub afterwards but not everyone can go drinking on a wednesday (most who have the money have't got the time and those who have the time don't have the money).

Perhaps I am being unfair I went willing to help but wasn't given any opportunity to do so.

BTW fair play to FVatw the problems probably arose from lack of time (and the facilitator was very nice in fact maybe too nice a fellow) could another meeting to focus on practicalities be organised?

Yep, it was all a bit rushed due to confusion over the hall booking...question time didn't produce tooi many suggestions or inquiries on the solidarity front or that many questions on clarification of what happened during the actions, present legal predicament etc.....donations were pretty good.

A bummer that we were rushed out of the hall cutting down on mingling time...in the context of general bummer of the movement collapsing when Rupert Murdoch tells us the war is over....great headline of the English Independent today The War is Over (but not for Iraq).

Don't despair CW5 are upbeat and hope to be proactrive...in anyone anywehere can put on a opcal meeting for us we can get there and speak....we've done good gigs in Sligo and Belfast if you want reviews.
