The al-Jazeera television station, quoting local residents, said the U.S. troops opened fire after someone threw a rock at the school. This is what 'liberation' looks like - this is the second major massacre of protesters in Iraq by US forces so far. More details at |

Another bloody Tuesday.
Looks very familiar. Still, there's a war on.
funny you should say that josef. sure wasn't it only the other day you were tellin us all that the war was in fact, no matter how much we didn't want it to be, over?
isn't doublethink a great thing?
Gee, Josef, such compassion!
Too bad you're not there to dust some of the kiddies yourself.
Rocks are obviously weapons of mass destruction and the the American response regretably caused collateral damage.
Seriously though, this shows the same callous disregard for human life so evident in the approach of the Americans and their allies.
Their approach builds on that of the Israeli military, from whom they have received advice, equipment and training in urban combat.
The end justifies the means!?
Just like the "liberation" of Afghanistan. Now a large number of Iraqis have been liberated into the grave. I have got to hand it to the yanks, when it comes to winning friends (in reverse) they don't need lessons from anyone, including the Zionists.
Where did I say the war was over? All I'm saying in my seemingly glib remark is that it's not a normal situation in Iraq as opposed to the other occasions I mentioned when the British army got a little jumpy and fired shots.
There are conflicting reports about gunfire and lack of so I'll not pass judgement just yet. I'll wait for the movie of the book of the public inquiry into the inevitable initial inquiry.
Doesn't change my view that the removal of the Baathists and the manner in which it was done was a good thing for Iraq.
...and committ war crimes. But they do care about one thing-money!
Which is why we should stop givin the Yanks any more-why finance their wars?
BOYCOTT THEIR MULTINATIONALS!
Accounts of the incident in Iraq are eerily like Bloody Sunday, including even the size of the death toll.
If there isn't an Iraqi version of the Provisional IRA in being already, I suspect there will be one soon. No, it isn't over and it may only have got started just now.
The day after the first massacre in Falluja, at a protest against the initial slaughter, US troops kill more unarmed demonstrators:
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=KUZYEOYACO5JICRBAELCFEY?type=topNews&storyID=2656997
Interesting to note the similarites with Bloody Sunday. At BS UK troops said they were fired at, but somehow the only people they killed were unarmed civilians. So much for marksmanship.
In Falluja, the US troops said they saw 2 light machine guns, and then proceed to kill 15 and wound 50-70 civilians. How does it take 65-85 people to operate 2 light machine guns against US forces. Short answer, it doesn't. I doubt the 10 year-olds that were killed could even lift the 2 machine guns that were displayed by US forces.
Imperialist armed forces seem to believe that when they come under attack from a few people at point A they are perfectly justified in killing uninvolved unarmed people at every point other than A. Funny how the "terrorist" attackers never seem to get killed at these protests. Maybe its because they don't exist.
Reports this morning on Newstalk (& ireland.com)state that 2 more protesters were shot this morning:
"Some local people believed as many as four people might have been killed and said the demonstrators had been unarmed.
A hospital official in Falluja said he had seen two young men who died of head wounds inflicted by US troops. "The number of killed was two. They were hit in the head," said Ahmed al-Taha, putting their ages between the late 20s and early 30s." (Ireland.com)
His hospital was treating eight wounded and other casualties were taken to a different clinic.
Rumsfeld to troops: "Those pesky protesters why won't they leave the benevolent liberators alone! Now let's get us some more damn rag heads!"
This is an example of the so called liberty and freedom Americans are bringing to long suffering Iraqis. It appears Iraqis don't even have the right to peaceful protest, without getting shot dead, by trigger happy GIs. Looks like it could be a regieme change for the worst, with Iraqis still not able to speak out without getting slaughtered by gun totting goons.
I SEE THE US ARMY TRAINING PAID OFF......

Lt Col Eric Nantz, of the 82nd Airborne said of his troops shooting 13 people in a crowd in Iraq: "There were a lot of people armed and throwing rocks. How is a US soldier to tell the difference between a rock and a grenade?" How indeed? I mean how could you tell the difference so let's just shoot all those Iraqis in the meanwhile just in case. Maybe the rocks were WMD's?????
