marx once said the world is divided between the proletarians and the bourgeoisie, well from what i can see ireland is divided into 3 main groups.
1) clerics, rich farmers, reactionary police supporters, big business and arse lickers. these people have no mind, they deserve no opinion and are not fully human. they live as parasites and as such much be treated like vermin.
2) the lumpenproletariat, the dregs of the barrel, the scum and refuse of any society in any given age. these are unfortunately what is left of the working class in ireland today. they helpfully wear a uniform which makes it easier to identify them (up-turned cap, white runners, knacker-tache). they have no loyalties and have subverted every revolution.
3) real people, students, extreme left-wing humanists and activists, the remains of the true working class of connollys day. we have a political conscience and a brain, as such we are singled out as a clitch in the nazi statemachine..
there will never be any justice in this country until the unholy trinity of the state, church and capital, is destroyed...for good this time.
That's close to a good stratified assessment in these complex times.
Hold on a minute:
"as such much (sic) be treated like vermin"
Is this what being left-wing is about?
3) real people, students, extreme left-wing humanists and activists, the remains of the true working class
Students... remains of the true working class?? You must be insane. I'm a student myself with left-wing tendencies, but how can you claim to be working class?
the term "working class" these days has less to do with finances than with a state of mind. i believe there is a proletarian mind set which is in direct opposition to the false consciousness of the lumpenproletariat and bourgeoise. besides the lower middle class who are singled out through the PAYE system are the new oppressed. the lumpenproletariat have no brains apart from knowing where to collect the dole, and knowing when an inspector gets on a bus. i saw at the protest on thursday several celtic-jersey wearing scumbags up poles who were looking for a fight and had no clue whatsoever about the issues, "what the fuck is globalisitionin..?",
so i define working class as people true to the working class consciousness, whether they are spoilt middle class rugby shirt wearing D4 students, or middle aged 1960's throwback activists with an extreme sense of nostalga.
