Hi, just logged on after waking up from last night's hangover. Great to see that there'll be huge protests in Belfast on Monday and Tuesday against the three stooges Bush, Blair and Ahern, but what about those of us who can't make it to the six counties on Monday or Tuesday due to work or other commitments? What protests, and I'm sure there are many that have been planned are going to take place in Dublin and the rest of the country on both Monday and Tuesday?

or do you have to wait for the mass movement.yoyu know you are as much a stooge as bertie.if you went to a grassroots gathering you could do a workshop on demos

At Saturdays STWC meeting to plan for the response to the Butchers visit, the Stop the War Coalition with the support of the ICTU indorsed the above plans and have call on all City’s, towns and Villages in Ireland and Britain to hold simultaneously protests on Tuesday 8th April at 13.00 in solidarity with Belfast

It's VERY important that everyone makes a big effort to get to Hillsborough on monday/Belfast on Tuesday. Small protests spread out across the country will NOT be as effective.

PLEASE

This is the best chance you will ever get.

These 1pm protests that have been called by ICTU are a joke, are they going to be ten-minute affairs? And timed to coincide with peoples' lunch breaks so that commerce is not disrupted in any way!

What they should have done is to have called for a two-day general strike. I believe the support is there for such an action.

Regardless of how anyone feels in regards to who calls what protest - who backs what protest - who is allowed to say what - lets forget about those issues and remember that the priority here it to let the worlds biggest tryant and his complicit allies that we do not want them on our island!

They have no place bringing a " War Summit " to the North of Ireland under the auspice of discussing internal politics.

WE DO NOT NEED A WAR MONGER TO BE PREACHING US PEACE.

The people in this country are smarter than that now lets show them exactly that - they will not continue this tryanny in our names.

Get to this protest ! Show the world how we feel

We will be attending the anti dumbwar bush protest anyway, you don't tell us, what we can and can't do.

How can sinn fein "activists" show their face ever again after what has transpired over the last 48 hours. Just like they administer british rule to somehow end it, they now welcome bush to show their "opposition" to him- what a sick joke

Appears SF intend going to meet the imperialists and attend the demo. Interesting if they road is blocked to stop them getting out. PSNI will have to clear a path for them.

From what I understand SF more specifically Adams and McGuinness will giving Bush a letter of complaint to Bush for using the Irish Peace Process to try and manipulate people into thinking he is a peacemaker.
SF are also mobilising their base to attend the blocade at Hillsborough and the rally in Belfast on Tuesday.

Will this be a peaceful protest? I will be there and am hoping no one is going to give anti-war demonstrators a bad name by lashing out in a violent manner. this defeats the anti-violent sentiments such protests are founded upon. it gives the likes of bertie ammo to dismiss us as vigilanties and ignorant distrurbers of the peace. If we turn out in numbers and wage a peaceful; protest it will be far more effective. Thats just my opinion though!

Unfortunately it seems as though we won´t get anywhere near Bush.
I know not the most reliable news media but they are fairly close to the RUC(sorry PSNI).
UTV says, that there will be a security cordon up to two miles from hillsborough castle.

Agree 100% with Precision Man. These 1pm protests that have been called by the so-called Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) are a joke, they are probably going to be the usual ten-minute shite affairs. What they should have done is to have called for a two-day general strike. Having said that I will be there for whatever mobilisation happens tomorrow in Dublin.
