Critical Mass Photos

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday March 28, 2003 21:42author by Dave Report this post to the editors

A very good humoured critical mass event went off today with about 200 cyclists taking to the streets. The cycle went past Dail Eireann (booing an emerging silver mercedes which obviously had a FF look about it) and returned at leisurely pace to O'Connell St..

Fantastic to see fun-loving cyclists partaking in an all too infrequent reclaim the streets action. Dublin Catholic Worker were just finishing up our daily vigil, held from 4-6pm on Mon-Fri. by The Spire, when the 2-wheeled environmentally friendly folks sailed pass. There was a great response of bike bells ringing when i held up a 'Beep For Peace' sign ( I know, I'll have to make a 'Ring for Peace' sign to be inclusive). Anyways well done to all involved. Hope I can join the next one????Any plans?

two wheels
powered by legs are very very good.

rubber tyres exploitative.
cars smelly.
pollution baaaaaaaad.

Trams don't seem to suit the Dublin administration.
nor do tunnels.

what does "critical mass" mean?
is that like cryptic?
