What the Brexit Leave vote, and Boris Johnson?s eventual triumph, seemed to in the end achieve was only the revelation of the extent to which British institutions have been hollowed out and corrupted, says David McGrogan.

Anti-war protestors target Raytheon, Derry

09.50 Thursday
Around 12-15 anti-war protestors have succeeded in entering the premises of weapons manufacturer Raytheon in Derry and bringing work there to a halt. They are now engaging in a peaceful sit down protest in the building. One of the protestors is dressed as a weapons inspector and is requesting access to Raytheon's weapons of mass destruction. Raytheon, one of the world's largest manufacturers of weapons, produces the tomahawk missiles and cluster bombs used by the US forces in Iraq.

When will someone occupy the MACOM weapons plant in Cork or Parthus Ceva in Dublin or Cork or Timoney in Navan who make armoured cars?

This appalling behaviour must be stopped, it is an attack on workers by dropouts. This once again damages any possibility of workers taking action against the war.

The sort of attack on direct action from people claiming to be SP members has become constant on indymedia. At first I thought it was people spoofing their attitude towards Shannon. Now I'm not so sure.

Could the SP clairify if this 'workers V dropouts' nonsence is actually a party position or are we simply being wound up.

Given the SPs supposed committment to strike action why did the boycott the anti war lobby of the ICTU conference?

Why did they oppose such a lobby at the IAWM meeting last Sunday?
