Good work getting that mpeg up on the web for distribution. Indymedia Ireland is following in the proud footsteps of the work done by Indymedia Palestine in getting the truth out.

watched the video....while i can see the guards attacking loadsa people i cannot see any disabled people being attacked as claimed.sadly indymedia is turning quite tabloid.
and in response to the last post i really dont think this is in any way comparable to palestine.so please dont compare it.

while this isnt in relation to this , its certainly revelent. the UN is to repremand ireland for its human rights record, this is in regard to its treatment of disabled people and travellers. but the above video is more evedence of this.

interesting to note 'the bastard' berty's responce, which ranged on tuesday 'the gardi reacted well under the situation' , to todays total U-turn of 'concern'.

what an a-hole.

I think the term disabled was an exaggeration. Someone with crutches was attacked and their crutches taken away from them. Whoever wrote that should not try to sensationalise an already shocking event.

From experiance I would say being on crutches is disabling

im not a guard or anything to do with them, but looking at all the footage and reports,it was quite clear that elements were there to cause trouble.there has to be order, that pocket of society would want a reality check, alot of their ideals are for fairys not modern day society...third level student

Fair play to the Gardai. It's about time they stopped going around robbing cans of students and the homeless and did something about the Hippy problem! Keep up the good work.

Quite frankly, nothing surprises me anymore in this country. Those Guards clearly enjoyed taking their chance to get rid of their frustrations. Maybe that is why they are called 'Guardians of the peace'.
