Are you watching Mr. Blix The United States today tested a huge Weapon of Mass Destruction at a Florida Airbase. The weapon may be used in Iraq very soon, and might even pass through Fort Ahern, the US military base at Shannon Airport, Ireland. The "Massive Ordnance Airburst Bomb" - also known by US forces as the "Mother of All Bombs" - MOAB was tested at Eglin Airforce Base in Florida this morning. The largest conventional (i.e. non-nuclear) bomb ever made is 40% more powerful than the so-called daisy cutter and shows that the United States, which is threatening war against Iraq on the pretext that it has Weapons of Mass Destruction, continues to be the world's most prolific producer of such weapons. The bomb was dropped out of the rear of a C-130 aircraft, similar to the ones which regularly visit Fort Ahern. It produced a mushroom cloud which could be seen many kilometres away and the shockwave was felt 30km away. When asked if the weapon could be used against Iraq US General Richard Myers, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of staff replied: "Anything we have in the arsenal, anything that's in almost any stage of development, could be used,".
