Startling revelations about the shadowy cutthroat world of FRU operatives were exposed in the Sunday people newspaper yesterday. As Tony Blair moves to block off, access to top FRU commander Brigadier General Gordon Kerr, in a bid to halt the Stevens inquiry prosecution of Brigadier Gordon Kerr one time head of the notorious FRU brit army regiment.

Tony Blair is offering immunity from prosecution to FRU operatives engaged in covert terrorist activities within Republican and loyalist paramilitary groups, in a bid to quash further investigation, and prosecution of FRU agents and their army and police handlers. The callousness and incompetence of Gordon Kerr, is said to led to unnecessary suffering and countless lives lost in the troubles. FRU double agents immersed in republican paramilitaries, were said to have had to set up republican family members such as brothers etc, for murder by the security forces, in bungled republican operations, to prove their loyality to their brit handlers and superiors. One such incident occured in Fermanagh, after a FRU agent set up his brother, who was subsequently shot dead by security forces, the agent was said to have been distraught, and in a moment of emotional weakness, confessed that he was working for the brits to his girlfriend. Realising he had blown his cover, he then went to his handlers, to ask that he be pulled out of operations in Northern ireland and relocated somewhere else. This application was turned down, by Gordon Kerr who refused to help him, and told him to 'get out of the mess himself'.After this the FRU agent decided he had to kill his girlfriend to ensure that his cover was not blown. He got 2 other fellow FRU republican double agents to strangle and beat his girlfriend Margaret Berry to death with a spade. After Margaret's body was found, the 3 FRU agents were consequently beaten, and shot dead by provies. As a result of Gordon Kerr's callous indifference for the safety of his agents and civillians, 4 people died, in a tragedy that could have been averted. This is just one in a long series of disastrous FRU operations under the control of both FRU and Special branch. Intelligence services were said to be denying that Johnny Adair was ever an agent of theirs, claiming only Brian Nelson and Willian stobie. FRU UDA infiltrator William Stobie was shot dead, after his security force handlers, feared he would reveal he was acting under their direction, fearing he would finger them for the murder of human rights solicitor Rosemary Nelson, in a bid to save his own skin. Security force intelligence sources are livid that the Omagh investigation ever happened, and hope that Tony's action will put a stop to the revelations concerning FRU agent collusion in the Omagh bombing, in this investigation as well. Looks like when we are just getting close to the truth, Tony underhandedly moves the goal posts just a little bit further.
