Dear Comrades;
On the Tuesday 11th of February we will be holding a public meeting and
video showing, "Direct Action Against The War & 'Hidden Wars of Desert Storm
'".
Venue: The Front Page Bar, Belfast, from 8.00 p.m..
'Hidden Wars of Desert Storm' is an award winning documentary, narrated by
John Hurt, which charts a two year investigation into Iraq and the Gulf War.
The film charts the US and UK governments' relationship with Iraq from the
Second World War. Essential viewing for anyone wanting to get a better grasp
on the issues, from oil, weapons inspectors, depleted uranium, Gulf War
Syndrome and why the US is now targeting Iraq in its 'War on Terrorism'. We
will have a panel of speakers talking about issues surrounding direct action
tactics against the war followed by open discussion. Speakers will include
Rob Fairmichael from Justice Not Terror, Tim Hourigan of Refueling Peace,
and speakers from the Anarchist Federation, and Organise! - ASF.
We would also urge as many people as possible to attend the Anti-War Demo's
on Saturday 15th of February in Belfast and Dublin. In Belfast assemble at 2
p.m. Art College Gardens, Belfast. In Dublin assemble 2 p.m. Garden of
Remembrance, Parnell Square, Dublin.
On Monday the 3rd of March you are invited to attend a meeting "Class War
and Resistance in Argentina", which will include a video showing and
discussion of the current revolutionary upheaval in Argentina. This will
take place in Giro's/BYCG, 4 - 5 Donegall Lane, Belfast, at 8 p.m..
The latest edition of the Organise! - ASF Solidarity Bulletin is now
available. If you would like to receive a copy, or a bundle of ten to
distribute to friends or workmates etc., please send a first class stamp to;
Organise! - ASF, Belfast Local, PO Box 505, Belfast, BT12 6BQ.
Donations of cash, stamps etc., are always necessary to ensure the continued
production of the bulletin and to allow us to continue to build the
publication and its distribution.
We would also like to encourage as many people as possible to get involved
in supporting the fire fighters dispute. In Belfast Support Group meetings
are held every Tuesday at 7.00 p.m. upstairs in the Unemployed Resource
Centre (use the side door), Lower Donegall Street, beside the John Hewitt
bar. Get along and support our fire fighters.
All the best for now.
In Solidarity;
Jason Brannigan
