At the high court this morning the barring order against Caoimhe Butterly, Ed Horgan, Tim Hourigan and Conor Cregan was dropped due to the withdrawal Of the peace camp. Other cases will be heard at 3pm. The other cases include that of an IMVC journalist who is contesting his barring order. There were other individuals who were not present this morning who will also have their cases heard. An Interim barring order against the five Catholic Workers was upheld. |

plus In reply to a question from Sinn Féin TD Seán Crowe the Minister for Justice stated today (Tuesday December 17th) that the cost of security to police the protest at Shannon Airport on the weekend of 6 to 8 December 2002 was 29,211 Euros. The cost of security to protect American military aircraft that stopover at Shnnon Airport since January 2002 was 12,183 Euros. The cost of security to police other protests at Shannon Airport since January 2002 was 17, 960 Euros. All in all, just under 60,000 Euros in total.

Anybody got the full list of those that Aer Rianta want to exclude? Are they all peace campers and those in jail, or have other activists being singled out as well?
In answer to the above, the order against the people mentioned was not completely dropped - an injunction barring them from trespassing on Aer Rianta land was made but all the rest (including spurious claims for damages) was dropped.
The list of people being injuncted is fairly random and even includes someone who only delivered a bag of spuds! while leaving out some people closely associated with the camp
Camp = bargaining chip.
