Dublin City Council Backs Sinn Féin Anti-War Motion

Dublin City Council unanimously adopted a Sinn Féin motion last night calling for support for the anti-war rally on February 15th and for a stop to the drive to war on the Iraqi people.

Sinn Féin councillor Larry O’Toole, who proposed the motion, said: “I am delighted not just that the motion passed, but that it passed with the support of all groups and parties on City Council. This kind of cross-party support for the anti-war movement is a sign of the growing numbers of Irish people who are taking a stand against the war. 58 American cities have also passed anti-war motions and the numbers there, and here, are set to grow.”

Dublin City Council joins local councils in Derry, Galway and Sligo that have passed anti-war motions in the last few weeks.

Cllr O’Toole went on to say, “The important thing now is to mobilise for the 15th of February and meetings are going on across the country to make sure of that. Councillors can play their part by putting forward, and passing, anti-war motions at every opportunity.” ENDS

The motion read:

‘That this Council supports the anti-war rally called for the 15th of February and calls for a stop to the drive towards war on the Iraqi people.’

english = ingles third on list. after Spanish and French.
Yesterday Zapatero leader of Spain´s opposition and most likely future President of Spain´s centrl government seated in Madrid, called for all to go out on to the streets Feb15.
He has joined a lengthening list of centrist political party leaders in doing so.

This does not however make him a jedi.

Then why not ENNIS?????
Believe me they've got better things to do than kill babies, or help in the child killing effort. Have you ever been to ennis, co. clare? Ever been to Brandon's on a Monday night? If we want peace on earth maybe we ought to find out who is doing it and how it is done!
