Hi folks,
after a very difficult time for Sem and difficulties organising funds, flights and visas, Sem finally arrived.
He is as cheerful and inspiring as ever and is determined to continue his work to bring justice to his people, forests and animals.
If you can help in any way, now is the time!
You could help by:
--HELPING WITH FUNDS. Sem needs money for travel, food,
accomodation, publications etc.
--SECURING ACCESS TO POLITICAL REPS: Do you have political contacts?
Can you visit your local (overpaid) TD? Can you help make the Irish
government change their cowardly stance towards West Papua?
--VISA/IMMIGRATION: Sem's visa runs out in just over 2 months. What
then? He needs to remain in Ireland or have an open visa to ensure
his safety. We need to organise a new and longer term visa.
--MEDIA AND AWARENESS: You can write to the Papers telling them
about Sem and West Papua. Secure articles in journals, magazines,
newsletters etc.
--GRASSROOTS ORGANSING: Can you organise a talk for Sem or a video
night, cultural event, eco-spiritual workshop, forest ceremony,
festival etc???
--DIRECT ACTION: Are you prepared to take direct action to expose the shallow stance of the Dutch Govt, the Irish govt, BP or some of the other multinations involved in raping West Papua? Perhaps a sit-in or Blockade?
-- SPREAD THE WORD TO ANYONE THAT IS INTERESTED!!!!!!!!
