People say heat pumps don't work in older houses. But Tim Adams has proved them wrong ? and all it took was thousands of pounds and two years of tweaking. Now he saves ?5 a week. It'll pay for itself by the time he's 107.

Southport attacker Axel Rudakubana had declared the need for "white genocide". Is this why the authorities are so adamant that it wasn't a terrorist offence?

Another alarmist climate scare story bites the dust as new findings published in Nature show no decline in the strength of the Gulf Stream since the 1960s. Seems the 'day after tomorrow' won't be freezing after all.

Sligo Super WEST PAPUA EuroRaiser THURS night

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday December 18, 2002 11:03author by Ruairi - West Papua Support Groupauthor email muscailt at yahoo dot com Report this post to the editors

get yer arses out for justice!

This Thursday at 9pm in Sligo Trades Club, the West Papua Support Group will host a super Christmas EuroRaiser in aid of West Papua and Papuan tribesman Sem Karoba. There will be craic galore, DJs, impromtu sessions and anything goes. You wanna play? sing? help out with promoting? do the door? Come along early and help us out!!!! It will be a mighty night for a great cause.

West Papua is one of the world's last rainforest cloaked countries. It lies North of Australia and has been brutally occupied by the Indonesian government and military since the Dutch colonisers left in the 60s.

As the world declares a war on selective terrorism, we declare a war on ALL terrorism - including the U.S/Dutch/'Western' supported Indonesian assault on 100,000s of West Papuans.

Come along - sing a song - bring your granny and your sense of madness. Also HOTHOUSE FLOWERS GIG on FRIDAY at Holbourn St. Sligo will feature some support for West Papua.

D.j. Spinsta - good good global-a-go-go
D.J. Pete RANX - funk with punk ,and hopefully strumming 'Depleted Uranium'
Slow Aerobics - electrified recordings and might delve into the acoustic guitar for some rallying songs in a shopping trolley.
Invitations are going all out for others to vent their six-string spleen skiffle style.

Get there earlyish.
