Right-wing Bertie targets health and education...

news report
Friday December 13, 2002 15:10 by MG
Fianna Fail's Ned O'Keefe recently described the current Government as the most right-wing in the history of the Irish State. "Caring" Bertie Ahern was outraged. He said he considered FF to be left-of-centre. "Caring" Micheal Martin followed suit, declaring himself as a left-wing politician. Today, inflation figures showed that price rises in the last 12 months averaged 4.8%. In the area of health, the increase was 13.9%. In education it was 10.2%. And there was me thinking that left-wingers supported cheaper, more accessible health and education services.

The Labour party/sp/swp cry crocidile tears about these issues and but it was ordinary peoples anger and that left Dublin Bus in no doubt that they were not going to get away with their extortionate fare increases for substandard services.
