Mon Aug 14, 2017 19:54 | Dara McHugh | Palestine. A poem national | miscellaneous | news report Tuesday April 16, 2002 06:41 by Giulio Stocchi - Poet gstocchi at planet dot it Corso Magenta 88. Milano. Italy 0248003443 Poem written with verses taken from the Psalms of David. Against the violence and blasphemy of Sharon's policy. With prayer to circulate it Dear friends The poem, as you will see, is composed of verses taken from the Psalms of David, the most honorable words in the jewish culture and religion. Words that, if realized, would significate the triumph of peace for the Israeli, the Palestinians and for us all. These rare words, in the mouth of Palestine today, which could easily be pronounced by other peoples or nations, and by each of us, uncovers, in all it's nakeness, the blasphemy of Sharon - defining it terrorism is being mild - and perhaps in minds not yet sleeping or perverted, could prime reason and reflection.
sincerely Giulio Stocchi In my website you can find other poems about war and peace, also in english, like The red cantata for Tall el Zaatar.
Dogs have compassed me And speak peace to their neighbours Hear the desire of the humble The wicked said in his heart: I shall not be moved Though an host should encamp against me For the needy
His public poetical activity began in 1975. With his particular sensitiveness for the peculiarity of the poetical sound, Stocchi published various records: Il dovere di cantare (National award of the critic), Punto e a capo, La cantata rossa per Tall el Zaatar (with the jazzman Gaetano Liguori), Da sogni e da città, also with Liguori. He published with Einaudi the book of poetry and prose Compagno poeta. He is member of the Club Psomega regrouping artists, philosophers, scientists to study the inventive thought. |
