Military Intelligence![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Soldier on magic mushrooms kills eight comrades 29/11/2002 - 12:54:31 PM
It was the latest in a string of shooting sprees in the nation’s demoralised military. Denis Solovyov fired his Kalashnikov assault rifle at a tent where his 11 comrades were resting while deployed on patrol at Russia’s border with Georgia in the Caucasus Mountains. Some of the victims were killed on the spot and others later died of wounds in hospital. Lieutenant Colonel Yuri Kolodkin said that a preliminary investigation indicated that Solovyov was in a state of narcotic intoxication. Other officials said that Solovyov might have eaten hallucinogenic mushrooms before the shooting occurred. The so-called magic mushrooms and grasses grow in the area. Shootings, desertions and suicides have plagued the Russian military, where discipline and low morale are serious problems along with underfunding and poverty among servicemen. |

and Russia and China doing a deal today on
gas.
keen readers will remember that the Russians are very keen to find customers for their gas reserves. a trusted corespondant wrote a piece long ago on the training vessel "CARDOV" which sailed the mediterranean on "a good will" mission supporting Russian hopes of sharing their gas with Europe, bringing joint European and Russian gas/ oil reserves to 23% of global supplies.
Russia has lots of gas, but not much more. And that doesn´t even sound funny anymore after the Moscow theatre.
Magic mushrooms are available in Ireland from September to October, and are called psylocybin selomenceata (i´ve mispelled the latin).
They are very good containing psylocybin and only two other minor toxines. Magic mushrooms in Georgia though are different, mushrooms of the Irish type are confined to western temporate regions of Europe, the traditional celtic fringe. Georgia however has a more toxic variety. I suspect the russian soldier was on fly agaric.
Being red mushrooms with white spots, these are very bad for you and I warn readers not to try them. leave them for the pixies fairies and elves. They´re much better at that type of thing.
serious stuff on GAS:
MOSCOW. Nov 29 (Interfax-China) - Russia-China trade turnover might reach $20-30 billion over the next few years, Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko told Interfax prior to Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China.
Bilateral trade stood at $9.84 billion in the first ten months of 2002. "This tendency is likely to continue," said Khristenko. "This year's turnover might total about $12 billion," he said.
"Russia and China are about to begin the implementation of large- scale projects in the energy and natural resource spheres," he said. For instance, Gazprom is participating in the construction of the Tarim- Shanghai mainstream gas pipeline. The two countries have forged strategic cooperation in the gas sphere, he said.
Russia and China "are working on energy projects related to the development of gas deposits in Eastern Siberia and the Far East," Khristenko said.
"Our objective is to raise the share of hi-tech and engineering products in trade with China over the next few years," he said. Talks are underway for supplies of Russian equipment for the new Huanghua heat and power plant and expansion of the capacity of the two existing plants.
Furthermore, Moscow and Beijing will boost cooperation in the nuclear power sector, he said. The construction of the Taiwan nuclear power plant is proceeding on schedule.
Russian telecom operators might gain access to the Chinese market, Khristenko said. China's intention to provide access to Russian companies marked an important breakthrough. The intention was stipulated in a joint communiqu© adopted at the seventh meeting of the two heads of government in Shanghai in August 2002.
Moreover, machines and equipment accounted for $2.29 billion of Russia's exports to China in 2001, up almost 8.5 times from 2000, he said.
"Cooperation in the aluminum sector has been forged in the past year," he said.
Russia asked China to participate in the construction of an aluminum plant in the Irkutsk region, and in the development of a large bauxite deposit in Guinea

I belive the 'traditional' 'russian' idea with fly's is to sundry them and then ingest... ie; harvest during the season and then use as needed, a very colorful intoxication as far as i have heard it.
Soldiers are guillible slaves, anyone who puts on a uniform, to serve queen and cuntry, getting paid crap wages, for risking life, limb and sanity to do the States dirty work, is an easily led guillible fool. Soldiers follow orders of their superiors, Soldiers are programed not to think for themselves, to follow orders blindly, they are class traitors who will follow any order given by the state, to cross/break up picket lines, to shoot civillians and children, and to do anything to protect the rich and their class/social superiors.
