Organiser of the Seattle anti WTO demo Nov 1999 speaking in Dublin

Kevin Danaher, one of the organisers of the Seattle demonstration against the World Trade organisation in November 1999 is speaking in Dublin this Saturday at 4pm in Liberty Hall. This demonstration marked the birth of a new movement, commonly known as the ‘anti-globalisation’ movement.

Kevin Danaher, one of the organisers of the Seattle demonstration against the World Trade organisation in November 1999 is speaking in Dublin this Saturday at 4pm in Liberty Hall. This demonstration marked the birth of a new movement, commonly known as the ‘anti-globalisation’ movement.
Joe Carolan of Globalise Resistance will also give a report on the European social Forum conference and on the million strong anti war march that happened in Florence, Italy, two weeks ago.
Globalise Resistance will host a meeting with Dr. Kevin Danaher, on Saturday 30th November, 4pm in the new Liberty Hall Centre.
Kevin Danaher is a co-founder of Global Exchange, the noted human rights organization based in San Francisco. Kevin is well known for his dynamic speaking style aimed at encouraging people to expand their political vision and take charge of their lives. He goes beyond mere analysis of international events to provide motivation and viable ideas for action.
Danaher received his PhD in sociology from the University of California at Santa Cruz. His areas of expertise include:
• Elite Globalization vs. Democratic Globalization • World Bank and IMF: Why the Protests Are Growing • The World Trade Organization: Secret Global Government • World Hunger • US Foreign Policy • Building the Alternative Economy
Danaher has also written or edited eight books dealing with U.S. foreign policy and the global economy. His most recent books are Ten Reasons to Abolish the World Bank and the IMF, Democratizing the Global Economy: The Battle Against the World Bank and the IMF; Globalize This!: The Battle Against the World Trade Organization and Corporate Rule; Corporations Are Gonna Get Your Mama: Globalization and the Downsizing of the American Dream; and 50 Years Is Enough: The Case Against the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
