Zionism originated after the second world war, after the allies decided that although they cud give sanctuary to escaping nazi war criminal scientists, they could not and would not tolerate accepting jewish holocaust survivors, which the allies feared had bolshevik sympathies. It was decided to dump jewish holocaust survivors who had developed anarcho libertarian sympathies as result of their treatment at the hands of the nazi regieme, in the british colony of palestine. Many of the right wing allied countries still did not trust the holocaust survivors, and feared the formation of a libertarian communist sympathiesing jewish state of israel, so decided to scupper the state by encouraging neighbouring Arab countries to attack israel, so sealing the destiny of both palestinians and israelie holocaust survivors whose libertarian dream was destroyed, with the installation of right wing military generals who to this day still rule israel

Arafat and the PLO are a corrupt and bereacratic regime. Their failure of leadership has contributed to the conditions that support desperate terrorist tactics such as suicide bombing. The Palestinian people need to establish democratic committees of struggle, based in the communities and workplaces of ordinary Palestinians. These committees should control the armed forces. This is the only way that a genuine national liberation movement can be realised for Palestine. The terrorist tactics do not work and are counter productive. These committees must also link and appeal to the Israeli working class, who are also suffering under Sharons regime.

The Socialist Party have a section of our party in Israel (Maavak Socialisti) We make this demand and call for the following:
* IDF outof the Occupied Territories now
* AN independent socialist Palestine alongside a socilist Israel.
* An end of conscription into the Israeli army and the right of conscripts to refuse toserve in the West Bank / Gaza
* A voluntary Socialist confederation of the Middle East.

Long live Arafat too, the PLO are a secular organisation consisting of both muslim and Christian palestinians, they are a non religious organisation, Arafat himself attends midnight mass. Hamas on the other hand are a bunch of right wing religious maniacs and are a totally different non religously tolerant organisation, so for Israel to blame all the palestinians for the actions of a dubious few nutcases is counter productive, by taking such a heavy handed approach to all the palestinians and targeting Arafat, Israel is causing palestinians to become bitter and sympathise with the elusive Hamas nutcases. Also by asking Arafat to do their dirty work for them, ie tackle the Hamas maniacs, Israel is compromising Arafats integrity, because for Arafat to do this, it would undermine his support amongst ordinary palestinians, and confirm rumours that the new palestinian authority is in reality the new SONDERKOMMANDOS of concentration camp PALESTINE.

Arafat is a bureacratic corrupt leader as is the rest of the PA. They can't achieve genuine national liberation for the Palestinian people. Although maybe not directly involved in the terrorist attacks on Israel Arafat's lack of leadership has contributed to it. For terrorism to flourish a key factor is the lack of leadership to lead the masses. The masses of the Arab world see no solution to their economic and national problems. A genuine national liberation movement that is democratic and based in the communities is needed NOW for Palestine. I do defend the right of the Palestinians to fully defend themselves from Imperialist attack, including the right to use arms but the arms should be controlled by the people, through committees of struggle, not these right wing groups.
