Great to see censorship still alive

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday October 21, 2002 11:08author by FOD Report this post to the editors

Why was string 'praying at the church of Nice removed'.

someone before was proud to boast that there was no pro-Nice posts on the messageboard. why? because thay are censored. Ah, the great alternative to the mainstream media or the play thing of spoiled middle class brats?

Interesting because this article was as much news as most of the other posts put here. Labour party members have as much right to express theirpoint of view as any anarchist, and nice is topical.

'censored' posts are supposed to be 'reposted' here
http://lists.indymedia.org/mailman/public/imc-ireland-newswire/

but it is not happening.

why?

I know, I know, life would be much simpler if everyone who disagreed with you could be described with one simple label, but sadly it isn't so. The IMC lists include anarchists, Trots, Shinners, Greens (or maybe greens, I'm not sure), at least one Labour Party member, and an awful lot of unaligned people.
Its funny that when you try to set up a level playing field, with the same rules applying to everyone, some people see it as bias against them. Perhaps they're just used to having the rules bent in their favour...

Sarah

The Cabal that runs IMC is not an Anarchist one despite what they might claim.

It might best be described as

Pusillanimous Pseudo-Pacifist Petit Bourgeois Lifestyle-"Anarchist" Auto-Eroticist Dilettanti.

And anyone who feels like trading insults about spoiled MC Brats/anarchists etc in the real world come to the next meeting or contact me directly at [email protected].

IMC is not run solely by anarchists or anything like it - it is run by those who choose to get involved -

Checking this out anyway . .. .

because it was a comment, not a news article. As someone that contributed to the thread I have no problem with it being removed because it was not informative.

If the person posting it wants to have an article on the NEWSwire, then they should spend a little more than 1 minute typing out a complaint about the result of the Nice Referendum.

Otherwise the newswire becomes swamped with me complaining about the price of Heinz baked beans if that's what strikes me as interesting: if you want me to do that I can and will. I promise that I can submit a duplicate Heinz Baked Beans posting every 3 minutes.

The point is that there IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM ON THE NEWSWIRE for just anything. The IMC editorial collective, which you are free to join, is trying to make the newswire a resource, not a common pissing pool.

something you have far too much experience of and obviously enjoy pat - also note the e-mail address so you can correspond with/get to know something about yone of your percieved persecutors without the whole IMC community looking on . . . but then you wouldn't be getting the stream of attention you crave . . . there is hate in pretty much everything u ever write . . sometimes disguised . . .sometimes not but apparent all the same . . . as for McMean - I never deleted his posts - his posts were never deleted . . . I , after a series of cut/paste jobs by mc mean -respectfully suggested he confine himself to a digest - something he gave the nod to - but then he disappeared - never let the truth get in the way of a bit of Argy Bargy huh Pat

i never said you deleted mcmeans posts. aidan did.
you argued on indymedia with aidan regarding it. don't you remember? at he same time a whole load of c & ps by 666 were left up.
selective censorship or what?

there have been many postings with prices since the shelley launch, with prices attached. they weren't deleted.
selective censorship or what

gee you guys really can't take criticism. it must all take place in secret

anyway you guys can pour forth abuse but you cant take it.

why is it that every time i look at a post on this website there is the usual lot of twats patc ray etc. givn it loads bitchn on about each other ! you are a plague on this website, i dont see this kind of childish behaviour on the other indymedia sites are we irish incapable of normal debate and interaction as we saw in the nice treaty debate!

author by class traitorpublication date Mon Oct 21, 2002 22:41author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I will lose no sleep over Labour shits being censored, they only mess up anything they get involved in, and depoliticise it, and move it to the right. Indymedia should be for anti globalisation activists and various lefties, this would exclude neo-liberals like labour, they have the mainstream media.
