Personally I think this is good, after all I am an Irish speaker.
But politically is it because they're trying to tap into nationalism?
Is the motivation for a bi-lingual site because of a genuine committment to accomadating Irish language speakers, or is it because they are trying to appear nationalistic?
about time a youth organisation finally came out against Nice, now just maybe some of the issues of concern to young people will finally be addressed.
Socialist Youth is a youth organisation that campaigned against the Nice Treaty last year and we are again looking for a No Vote.
Socialist Youth is probably the only serious left-wing Youth organisation that is campaigning on youth issues.
I think that the bi-lingualism of the CPI website is because they are left republicans, not because they are genuinely committed to accomadating Irish speakers.
All over the world the Stalinist 'Communist' Parties embraced nationalism. Ireland is no real exception. On their site they refer to 'the 26 counties', this is a particularly republican term.
Ógra Shinn Féin have been tying in with our parties' local structures for a number of weeks now on the issue of the Nice Treaty.
We've been involved in leafleting and canvassing as part of our campaign work.
I'm not here to waste my time squabbling but I thought it necessary to set the record straight.
Maith sibh as an suíomh idirlíon.
Why is the CPI (as distinct from
Why is the CPI (as distinct from individual members) supporting a pro-Nice candidate in the SIPTU General Secretary election?
They are supporting a pro-nice candidate because they're no different to other Stalinists. They are nothing more than apologisers for the stalinist bureaucracy. Throughout the Undemocratic Stalinist regime in Russian they apologised for the bureaucracy's crimes against socialism.
Today all accross Europe the CP are nationalistic and inseprable from the Ruling parties.
Yes but when the wooley rhetoric above is examined in any serious fashion, where is the Ogra SF statement on Nice? And where is the socialist youth one, if they are as big as claimed above they should be able to find some capable of writing one? It is time more youth organisations said something on the issue, rather than attacking the only one who has so far.
Its been printed in the SY paper and is being distributed on the streets every saturday as well as in the schools and colleges.

No To Nice: What Kind of Campaign is Needed?
Did you have a read of the CYM manifesto?
It is seriously watered down. It does not call for socialism. It is simply left wing and not necessarily revolutionary. And throughout it is tainted by nationalism.
CYM are not a serious youth group. SY and ÓSF are in my opinion
Ográ Shinn Féin are launching their campaign some day this week, I THINK it's Friday but I'm not sure. They've designed and produced their own posters for use in the universities which will be going up over the next couple of days.
On top of that, they've been tieing in with local structures across the state.
Justin, I hope that Ógra Shinn Féin's posters will be better than FG's porno pic.
The Yes side and Fine Gael are just a big joke in the Universities.
Well the people in the poster are Bertie, Harney and Quinn so I am desperately hoping nudity ad orgy like images are not involved. Actually I heard a rather unnerving rumour that the people in the poster were actually wee Blueshirts and not models. Can this be so? What would Justin Barrett, ex Young Fine Gael, think of the depravity to which his organisation has fallen.
If the above is true, then we have 3 youth organisations doing the right thing on Nice, that is to be welcomed and shame on all the many other youth groups keeping dumb or calling for a yes.
El General must be spinning in his grave with all this blueshirt youth nudity, now a thousand hail marys for the conversion of young fine gael...
Sf are using weak points in their critique of the EU, either their research is poor or they are afraid to be seen to be too critical. As for the socialist youth/sp they are doing no leafleting or canvassing on Nice, certainly not door to door.
The Socialist Party are doing canvassing! In my branch (Dublin South) we've been going door to door on Nice for a number of weeks now.
Before you post something on the internet why not find out if it's true.
More details please? Our analysis was good enough for the last referendum when we ran the largest and most active progressive No to Nice campaign. We're doing so again and getting a very good response on the doors.
ok the sinner stuff is weak and the sp are not having a full campaign door to door, but where are labour youth hiding, perhaps in Globalise resistance?
