"Negotiating Legitimacy - Rituals and Reflection in Schools" is a newly published book in which educational practice is critically looked at through the lenses of ritual analysis. The book is based on a research project carried out by Robert Hamm in which teachers from Irish primary schools, German mainstream and Free Alternative Schools took part. A particular focus is put on the issue of reflection of teachers on their everyday practice. In the book it is suggested to systematically apply a concept of reflection as a social act rather than a solitary activity. |
