Why are climate alarmists so impervious to facts, so averse to rational cost-benefit analysis? It has all the hallmarks of a religious cult, says James Allan. They can't let it go because it gives meaning to their lives.

Sabotage Action in Mayo

category mayo | environment | news report author Wednesday June 13, 2012 21:49author by Sabotage Shell Report this post to the editors

Last week a stone crushing machine central to the operation of Barretts Quarry in Bangor, County Mayo was decomissioned.

Last week a stone crushing machine central to the operation of Barretts Quarry in Bangor, County Mayo was decomissioned. Barretts Quarry was targeted because it supplies materials crucial to the construction of Royal Dutch Shell's dangerous and destructive raw gas pipeline in Broadhaven Bay.

This action was taken in solidarity with the local community who have been in struggle against Royal Dutch Shell for the past ten years, and should serve to demonstrate that any company complicit in supporting Royal Dutch Shell's activities in Mayo, and beyond, can and will be targeted.

can anyone from shell to sea give us any further information on this??

This sounds like an anonymous (and autonomous) action, so it is unlikely that anyone outside the action is going to know anything about it. Why is any more needed to be known, even?

Well, I wanted to know if it was a hoax story designed to smear activists in rossport and whether anyone had any info so we could decide whether it should stay up as a genuine news story

If it indeed happened, it could possibly be a provocateur driven action designed to discredit the rossport protest and smear them as violent thugs. This kind of thing is not unknown. For that reason I elicited comment from S2S.

It might even be a cynical firm wishing to make a bogus insurance claim on the back of the protest. Who knows?

However I can well understand if nobody wishes to have anything to do with this story.

The Sabotage Action in question was against a stone crushing machine. not people I fail to see how this can been seen as being violent. As the struggle up in Rossport is all but lost with the tactics being used the last years (I by no means mean to discredit the hard working activists and local community with that statement, but lets face it the work is going ahead) I would hope to see more sabotage against Shell and the various companies who work with them.

Fair play lads, keep up the good work!! The night is ours.
